Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup Mini Guide

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a roguelike game where the player creates a character and guides it through a diverse branching dungeon, mostly consisting of persistent levels, full of monsters and items, with the goal of retrieving at least 3 of the 15 "runes of Zot" located there, fetching the Orb of Zot, and escaping alive.

Possibly Useful Info

  1. Enchanting an item will remove its curse.
  2. Different types of armor and their AC, EV, etc.
  3. A recommended safe place to stash items is anywhere on Lair 2.
  4. Search the LearnDB for monsters, items, or anything you're unfamiliar with.
  5. Elliptic says Lair -> Orc -> D:19 -> Crypt -> V:7 -> D:27 -> get three runes -> Zot

Movement

You have three options.

  1. Arrows
  2. Numpad
  3. hjkl yubn

You can test out hjkl yubn below. I prefer hjkl because it allows you to keep your hands in the home position and more easily transition between commands & movement.
